For achieving the National Diploma in OD-ETDP Level 5 as well as the National Certificate in OD-ETDP Level 6 in one year. Kea works continuously hard and has also submitted her RPL towards the Generic and Skills Development Management qualifications that IPD offers.

Associate of the Year - Allen Mc Intyre
This award was given to Allen for having the best evaluation statistics over the past 12 months. Allen can always be relied on to keep the IPD flag flying high and has received the best possible ratings by our learners in 2014, showing his dedication to changing lives one person at a time.

Employee of the Year - Liezl Klyenhans
Liezl has many roles to play at IPD, most critical of which is that of project coordinator, at which she excels. She also proudly graduated with a Level 4 certificate this year, as one of the two IPD staff graduates in 2014. Her friendly efficient manner allows everyone to get on with the business of IPD in the knowledge that the arrangements are well organised and creatively executed.

Well done to all of the Award winners and thank you for exceeding our expectations time and again!

Kearabetswe Mokoka

When I enrolled with IPD, I didn't know what I was getting myself into... many things had to be sacrificed to be able to achieve the results. The biggest challenge is really trying to juggle between work, family and study commitments and one really has to find the right balance to do that. I must admit I received an incredibly supportive IPD staff, always willing to support and advise all the time.

Most importantly I had the courage and a great support from my husband who understood the importance of studying and was always willing to wear the "Wife cap" and fulfill the role of looking after kids whilst I stay at work till very late at night. Even my kids as young as they are, they really appreciated the little time I gave them and they've been such an inspiration to me to keep pushing for more.

I am eager for progress and the sky is no limit.

It was a wonderful experience to study with IPD and next year I will be receiving my other medal to this race called continuous professional development.

I thank you!

Lucky Thango - The Marathon towards completing ODETDP Diploma

I have to admit that I thought completing ODETDP Diploma through RPL was going to be a short sprint; I soon realised that this was a marathon. The entire path was not filled with butter where one could slide to the finish line. A month before submitting my POE I decided to take a shortcut by weighing my evidence against the ODETDP National Certificate and contacted IPD for more information but that one call changed my mind.

The person on the other side said; "Giving up should not be an option, it is not about how long it takes to finish but it is about the experience you'll gain while gathering the necessary evidence, just submit what you have."

The IPD Admin Staff are like race supporters by the side of the road and the Assessor played the role of Coach. After I was declared competent against the National Diploma in ODETDP I had that happiness of Bongumusa Mthembu and Zola Budd combined. It really felt like 2014 Comrades Marathon.

Thanks IPD.

Nombuso Myataza

I have been around for few years and came across different challenges that made me lose hope and confidence that I can do anything successfully. Studying made me believe again. I decided to make my challenges my stepping stone instead of stumbling blocks.

Working in the learning and development environment opened my eyes and made me realise that I can do anything including furthering my studies. I had three drives that brought me to where I am today; inspiration, aspiration and courage. I have grown to love this field of learning and development striving to be the best every day of my life serving, consulting and leading "I am a leader to be a leader I do not need a position".

My slogan "Do not make your past your place of residence make it a point of reference". We have got so many reasons to believe that we cannot make it because most of us in the past were made to believe so.

Well done to all graduates today and may Jehovah God be with you all the way on your journey to further your studies.

Building a career path isn't quite as easy as enrolling at university, completing a course and seeking employment. Before applying to university, college or enrolling in a short course there are many deceisions that need to be made and circumstances to consider. This can be an overwhelming experience, and the confusion about what education really is excerbates the situation.
