Implementing a quality management system
In today's competitive world, it is only the fittest and most prepared that survive. Continually changing trends force organization to adapt in order to meet the needs and expectations of their target market or customers. To what extent does one therefore measure quality? Quality is defined according to meeting customer's expectations. And to properly manage quality of services, every organization should have its own objectives for measuring quality; the measures taken to ensure that their services conform to the set standards.
A quality management system is a combination of processes used to the degree that excellence specified is achieved, according to the ETDQA. In the Education and Training Development environment, quality will be measured according to meeting the needs and expectations of the training required. Being able to develop and manage a quality management system for any learning programme in an organization is of outmost importance. For example, if the organization is running a learnership programme, there should be clear set of objectives, time frames and good quality management processes in place. The outcomes of the learnership should meet the learning/ skills required in that organization.
