Calling all assessors and moderators trained during the past 4 years who still need to be
assessed (and become registered assessors)!
Due to an increasing demand, The Institute of People Development (IPD) again offers a FREE INTEGRATED ASSESSMENT to these assessors!
All you need to do is participate on a "bridging" program that aims to contextualize the relationships between conducting assessments, designing assessments, conducting moderation and program evaluation. This integrated program and assessment is shaped around the following unit standards:
|Conduct outcomes-based assessments
|Conduct moderation of outcomes-based assessments
|Design & develop outcomes-based assessments
|Evaluate learning programs
This carefully designed 5-day program also addresses the key problems with
assessment practices in South Africa, and prepares participants to establish the systems to quality
assure assessments in their respective workplaces.
This learning program plus FREE assessment; will provide participants with 47 NQF
credits and ensure eligibility to register as an assessor and a moderator.
Only ONE Portfolio of Evidence (PoE) will be required for this module and
will cover ALL the above four unit standards. Should you have already compiled a PoE for "plan
& conduct outcomes-based assessments", you WILL NOT have to do this work again, so just
include your existing PoE when submitting the new integrated PoE for this programme.
This unbelievable offer is available until 15 December only at a special

Educational leadership for 2008!
South Africa is focused on two key priorities for the early part of the Twenty-first Century - strengthening its position as a global economic player by achieving 6% per annum growth, and halving poverty and unemployment by 2014. Education training and development practices in the country will either support these goals or increasingly be relegated to the sidelines.
The nation's accelerated and shared growth initiative (ASGISA) under the country's Deputy President has identified binding constraints on achieving the above targets. One of the key constraints is a lack of skills linked to priority growth areas. In order for Government to successfully spend the over R370 billion earmarked for ASGISA, skills development in South Africa will have to undergo a revolution.
Due to intense market demand, the Institute of People Development (IPD) is leading South Africa in launching a new continuing professional development project leading to a post-graduate level certificate (NQF 6) in occupationally directed education training and development practices. 120 graduates will be selected to participate on this research-based project toward the new National Certificate in OD-ETD Practices at NQF Level 6.
Leadership in occupationally directed education training and development will increasingly need world-class skills in the following fields:
- Analysing organizational and learner needs and planning learning
- Facilitating skills development and learning frameworks in organisations in support of business strategies
- Managing ETD in organisations as an integrated part of human resource strategies
- Designing and developing learning programmes and processes that make a difference
- Facilitating and conducting efficient and effective learning and assessment
- Understanding and working with unit standards, qualifications, learnerships and the NQF
- Evaluating human resource development interventions
This research project synthesizes all the learning in the programme with the learner's years of experience. It combines theory with practice in order to explore an area of interest to the learner and of use to the learner's organization. Learners will be lectured in research skills and then supervised by a knowledgeable practitioner in the learning area.
Quality human resources will be key in facing up to these challenges and the competition for skilled leaders and practitioners will determine those that lead the market, those that follow, and those that go under.
